Mt. Rainier - Part 1

We spent the weekend at Mt. Rainier. It is about an hour away from our home. For the past four years we have gone evey summer and stayed in the same campsite. We started going when Collin was 6 months old and now Elliott is the same age.

Elliott got to spend time with his cousin Abigail. If you look closely you can see him stealing her pacifier.

Grandma holding her two youngest grandchildren.

Isabel and Collin enjoying smores.

We had three hammocks set up. The kids loved playing in them.

There is a 80 year old lodge at Paradise - it was built in 1916. They refurbished the lodge over the last couple of years. It is hard to describe, but it is like a classic mountain lodge with a steep cedar shingle roof and two enormouse fireplaces on either side of a great hall. All of the furniture are old rough-hewn, hand-made items like this chair (but trust me, classier than the gawdy log-cabin furnture that you can find in stores).
