Hawaii Again

So, your tax dollars hard at work, I got to fly out to Hawaii for a few days to help set up a program at the Army base. We were forced to stay in a hotel that was right on the beach.

Day 1 - hanging out at the park on the beach.

We had dinner at our favorite restaurant - Duke's

One day I got out a little early so we went to the windward side of the island. It was very windy with a storm coming in - but so beautiful. We rented a kayak and paddled around the small islands. A lot of kayakers couldn't even make it past the surf - it was comical to see them try to paddle and "storm the beach" only to get flipped over. Andrea and I were tough and made it past the crashing waves on our first try.

This is a picture from or small island destination.

Lots of Kite Surfers out since it was so windy and choppy.

This small coral island was so awesome - it had little pools and mini beaches where the surf would come in and fill up the cove.

Even a stormy, rainy day is wonderful out there.

Andrea's only goal while we were in Hawaii was to perpetrate a new cool Facebook picture. I think this is it.

Andrea had it rough while i was working.

After work one day we drove out to visit my brother Aaron who is at BYU-Hawaii. He was originally at Ricks, but spent a semester in Hawaii and decided to stay. We saw his apartment which has enough room for 4 beds and 4 surfboards and nothing else. He is having a great time. We went out to dinner and stopped to take some pictures on the way home.

Yes - I am in a shirt and tie on the beach in Hawaii. It was a work trip for me - i actually was doing work and going to meetings - i just lacked the foresight to pack a change of clothes for the evening.

So which one spends his time at the beach and which one spends his time in Seattle?

... and a picture of my happy place.

Let us discuss my jealousy, even if you do have a shirt and tie on Michael..........I am mild to moderately jealous.
