Parenting joys don't come without parenting pain. The pain was months and months of Saturday practices (who schedules something for 1130 every Saturday?). Faithfully for months one or more of us was there, watching Isabel, listening to Ben Gibbard whine on whatever death cab song they were dancing to that week.
In the end it was such a joy to see her recital. Two scenes stick out. First at the beginning the whole crew is standing on a chair - swishing their leg like they are rowing - while they take turns shielding eyes as they pretend to peer out in the distance. Second, two of the girls picked up Isabel in an Iron Cross pose and carried her across the stage. I could see how happy she was.
For her she just seemed to love being in a little clique of girls who could giggle, laugh and run all over the place.
Grandma came out for the recital.
The obligatory bouquet of flowers for a a job well done. I think the makeup was reward enough for her.

She look so pretty, like a little angel! I'm glad her recital was fun for her. :)
Isabel is growing up quickly. She looks nice. Grandma enjoyed the performance. Say that Grandma looks pretty hot.
