This first picture is of three of us on our team. Me, Ed and Phillip. We have yet to meet up with our fourth member Terrance. We were hoping we would see him in Germany but we might not meet up with him until later.

This is the view of Germany from the air terminal. Germany is beautiful. It is emerald green and has towns that seem to be perfectly spaced out in the middle of forests and farms. The air base sits in the middle of a valley with green, forested hills on each side.
This is our airplane. A DC-10 that was chartered for our trip. It is a crowded and uncomfortable plane. There are no passenger-controlled air vents and the flight was very full. And what in-flight movie would you pick for a bunch of soldiers and airmen flying out to war? If you guessed Madagascar 2 - Escape to Africa then you are as sadistic as our flight attendants. I think this was actually the first time I have slept on an airplane. I only have recollections of a couple of glimpses of the movie. This ends my 30 year streak of not being able to sleep on a flight. All it took was two red-eye flights to do it.
This is the terminal in Germany. It is very crowded with the slowest internet service i have ever had.
